Who can use it?
Anyone who knows how to use Excel can use this System. The worksheets
are ready to use on screen or to print and fill in by hand. Expert users can
alter the sheets to meet changing needs.



I've been there...
I've been laid off in the past and know how frustrating job searches can be. It is frustrating not knowing what to do, forgetting
who has been contacted, and losing track of research. The whole thing can be quite daunting! It can be a time of great self-doubt
and anxiety. I know because I've been there, and I created the System to reduce the anxiety, build momentum, and structure a
successful search.
Layoffs, companies' inability to provide outplacement services, and high unemployment of recent college graduates, this System
can help those who need structure during a career transition. If you commit to using this System, you will build momentum and
progress through the search process faster than those who are not as organized or targeted. You may even end up with a better job
than the one you left, like I did.

What is it?
The System is an Excel Workbook. It includes 7 spreadsheets which are search strategies and tracking mechanisms. An Introductory page
gives System usage information and discusses the importance of targeting. Each page includes usage suggestions.
Three bonus spreadsheets also are included, as is access to a "mini-manual" on the overall process. The 26-page mini-manual, Focus Forward,
includes tips on resumes, letters, interviews, networking, and more. It includes common mistakes I continue to see as a career transition coach,
including mistakes college career centers are not addressing. Tactics shared help job seekers be more savvy and more attractive to hiring
managers.
In addition to keeping candidates organized, the System also sustains momentum, keeping candidates motivated and productive. Utilizing a
structured approach makes the search process efficient. Jobs are out there, and the people who are highly skilled and present themselves the
best are getting them.
The 26-page "mini-manual" called Focus Forward is accessible through the Targeting & Tracking
System. It includes more usage ideas and walks users through the 5-stage job search process. It is
not an all-inclusive repeat of other books out there, it includes tips not found elsewhere and serves as
a good supplement to other job search material available. It is accessible through the System, and is
included in the Pay it Forward model above. You get the System, you get access to Focus Forward.
