Michael Scott and Dwight Schrutte, played so cleverly by Steve Carell and Rainn Wilson on the television show
The Office, are not the best role models. In fact, sometimes they are painful to watch. Michael has good intentions,
usually, but his people skills and efficiency skills are lacking to the point of being illegal. Dwight, well, what can one
say about Dwight? If an explanation about why they are not good role models for high performance is necessary,
it's best to seek a different consultant.
Two programs created to develop high performance are offered:
- Perform like a Champion--for Leaders
- Perform like a Champion--for Professionals
Both Perform Like a Champion courses employ a cutting-edge model which combines project management and
training. Client organizations identify a project for participating managers or professionals of any level to work on
during the 3-day course. They take the project as far as possible over three days, receiving feedback on their
performance and training for development along the way.
Kelly Tyler created this unique development model and makes it available to clients who want to see financial
results from their development investment. Please contact Kelly for more information about the course, including an
agenda.

Perform Like a Champion--for Professionals develops high
performing employees. The 3-day course includes modules on
what separates high performers from average performers. From
working with Management to basic financial analysis to
advanced presentation skills to mastering interpersonal
dynamics, this course is full of techniques, templates, and tools
every professional should arm themselves with today.
Perform Like a Champion--for Leaders develops leaders who drive performance. The 3-day
course develops savvy, not stuffy, leaders. It develops leaders who inform, inspire, and influence in a
way which makes others follow them eagerly. It works because participants get feedback and use
it, unlike Michael Scott. It works because it includes modules on the tough stuff: strategic decision
making, using conflict the right way, giving feedback and feed-forward, and more.
Initiating activity does not make someone a leader. Proclaiming oneself the leader does not mean
one is a leader. Getting others to do things does not make someone a leader, at least not a highly
regarded one.
Leadership is determined by one's followers, and the eagerness with which they follow. It does not
matter what your title, salary, office location, car, or mother say. You are only a true leader when
others follow you eagerly and perform well because of it. You are a true leader when you face
challenges head-on, which is the focus of Perform Like a Champion--for Leaders.
